Weimar Institute and Trails - June 20, 2015
Weimar Institute is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, originally opened in 1919 as a small tuberculosis sanitarium. It is now used as an education center for Health and Education. The trails weave in and out of pine, oak, and manzanita trees. We cross several creeks and a couple of bridges. Keep an eye out for deer, ticks, snakes, coyotes, and poison oak! We will pass by several old cemeteries where most graves are marked by a single wood plank with a small numbered metal piece attached. Lunch will be at Ikeda's California Country Market.
