Angel Island - February 16, 2013
We will take the ferry from Tiburon to Angel Island, a grass-and-woodland-covered mountain island with spectacular views of Marin County, San Francisco, and the Golden Gate Bridge. This moderate, 5-mile roundtrip hike has an elevation gain of 770 feet. It starts with some steep stair climbing for about .2 miles, then becomes a gentle incline to the top of Mt. Livermore. We'll have a picnic lunch at the top while savoring the breathtaking views. For those who want snacks back at the dock, there is a small cafe. After crossing the Bay back to Tiburon, we can stop at the bakery/ice cream shop for treats.
