Echo Lakes - June 16, 2012
This moderate, 6-mile roundtrip hike has spectacular views of Echo Lakes and vistas of snowcapped mountains. It is relatively level with a few ascents. This delightful hike is along granite walls and through mixed forests with a myriad of wild flowers and sparkling streams. We'll have a snack at the far side of Upper Echo Lake relaxing among the jeffery pines, willows, and wild flowers, soaking up the unforgettable views. For those who would like a shorter hike, they may take a ferry back to the trial head and enjoy an ice cream at the lodge while waiting for the rest of us. We will have a late lunch at the Forrester, delightful Camino restaurant.
