John Muir/Martinez Adventure - November 19, 2016
We'll take Amtrak to Martinez and walk two miles to the John Muir Center where we'll view a film about Muir's life. Afterwards we'll tour the Victorian house where he lived with his wife and two daughters for twenty years. From this house he wrote letters to Congress that influenced the preservation of many of our National Parks and founded the Sierra Club. We will also tour an exhibit of the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail. There is an optional hike up to Mt. Wanda to enjoy a 360 degree view. We will have lunch at Fresh Start, a local favorite.
